Happy Thanksgiving! One thing I'm thankful for is that the new site hasn't blown up yet with all little glitches I'm catching (the perils of writing your own search engine) and slowly adding past story links into the database (just finished up March 2003), but I hope things will get better over time. Here's some other stuff that's been done today:

  • updated Search with a mini-thesaurus that matches keywords to story codes
  • cleaned up the Links section
  • added some of my Favorite things

Thanks to everyone who've been sending me notes. I'll certainly look into some of your suggestions.

Everything old is new again! After migrating over 300 files and re-encoding almost a thousand links (and I'm not nearly halfway done, oy), I figured it was a good a time as any to relaunch the site. Aside from the cosmetic changes, a lot of work has gone into the... er... back end that includes:

  • a searchable custom-built database for stories and their authors and codes
  • a whole new section that groups stuff by their respective topics
  • a dedicated RSS feed for stories to complement the one for my blog archive
  • a refurbished feedback form that finally works

Now you know why I've been so quiet as of late. Expect to see less of me as I continue moving over the rest of the links. As always, I'm eager to know what you think. ;)
