Gay couples are holding together [c/o Rodney Croome]
Forget the phony figures cooked up by organizations like the Family Research Council that warn about the alleged instability of gay relationships. Vermont has been the only place in America where we have amassed hard, cold facts about gay couples, the only place where, for the last four years, gay relationships have been recognized by the state as equal to straight relationships. And the data is in: Gay couples are doing much better than straight couples are.

Abolish the Terror Tax--Energy indepedence is a good thing to promote unless you're the president of Exxonn Mobil who claims "[Americans] do not have the resource base to be energy independent... We simply cannot avoid significant reliance on oil and gas from the Middle East." While he has a good point regarding the unfeasibility of eschewing oil in the short term, he then proceeds to shoot down developing and enhancing alternative means of energy production that obviously threaten his bottom line. Ah well, what else can we expect from the country's largest publicly traded oil company? Salon
