New stories: Trio Part 2 by chester and Born Again Sailor Man by magister.

Stories I'm reading:

Camelot 3000--Written by Mike Barr and brought to life by Brian Bolland, Camelot 3000 marked several "firsts" in the comic book industry: it was DC's first maxi-series (12 issues that originally spanned 3 years!), it was also their first direct-to-comic-store release (bypassing newsstands, a big deal then), and it was first time after a long time that DC specifically targetted a comic book for a mature audience that essentially paved the way for books like The Watchmen and Dark Knight Returns to enter the market. Originally published in the 80s, it's a bit dated today and--dare I say it--campy in its own fun little way. Nonetheless, it is still very much worth reading.

Donnie Darko--Strange, strange, strange. I won't pretend I understood it all the first time I watched it (as if anyone could), but what are DVDs with director and cast commentaries for? :) And can I just mention Frank is one scary-ass rabbit? (Fuck, it's Watership Down all over again.)

Stories I'm reading: Stories to put you to sleep

The Ultimates--Marvel's Avengers get the Ultimate treatment thanks to writer Mark Millar and penciller Bryan Hitch who have brought the team into the 21st century. Gorgeous doesn't begin to describe this book although I do wish it came out more regularly. Macrophiles will love Hank Pym as the scientist who can grow up to 60' tall, and muscle-growth fans have Capt. America, the Thor, and the Hulk to fantasize over. (Have you seen a horned-up Hulk? It ain't pretty.) And I'm sure Iron Man has an electric dildo somewhere in that high-tech suit of his. The first seven issues have been collected in a trade paperback and the next story arc will be available--are you ready for this?--October 2003. Oy!

Stories I'm reading:

Snow Queen--Hallmark brings to life one of my favorite fairy tales. I loved that part when the bellboy turned bad. IMO, as the title character, Bridget Fonda (Or should it be "Frigid" Fonda? Ooooh, bitch-slap! :D) felt out of place. Her performance was too slick and modern, but Canadian cutie Jeremy Guilbaut more than makes up for that. His boyish charm and great smile have melted this ice queen's heart.

Eric Coe--A model website, and no, I don't mean it's a site that other sites should be modeled after. ;) Still, he is cute.

Marist brother preyed on homesick boys, court told--Reading about this kind of thing as fiction is one thing. Reading about it for real is, well, very disheartening.

Where did the month go? No, really. I don't understand where the time has gone. I still remember working on last month's anniversary and here I am again. I'm certainly not living life to the fullest, that's for sure. If I were, I'd be spending a lot less of it online. ;) I hardly see the sun as it is. In any case for this month, I've tweaked and added to the links page and put in a couple new favorite stories. (Speaking of which, I didn't get a single list--or a story link--from you guys... not a one. :() Ah well... sorry for being so depressing. Must be Valentine's blues.

Stories I'm reading:

Jeremy Callaghan--Played pretty boys Palaemon and Pompey in Xena: Warrior Princess and bad-ass Balcifer in Beastmaster.

Daredevil--Well... I wasn't terribly disappointed nor was I totally bowled over with it either. IMO, the subject matter was really too dark and depressing to begin with and the scope felt so much smaller compared to Spider-Man. DD only had Hell's Kitchen to worry about while Spidey had the whole city of New York rooting for him. As for the cast, Ben Affleck was ok, not great as Matt Murdock. Having Michael Clarke Duncan as a black Kingpin was inspired at first but he wasn't able to pull off the role all that well in the end and Jennifer Garner... what the hell do I care? :D OTOH, there were things I enjoyed: hunky Colin Farrell's deliciously hammy acting, how DD's "sight" was portrayed and all those in-jokes only a Marvel fanboy can love. Wove... Twue Wove--What can I say that hasn't been said about The Princess Bride? Have Westley drop Buttercup and go for Humperdick... er... Humperdinck and become the prince's bride instead? No, thanks. I'll just stick with the original. :)

Now that I'm older (and purportedly wiser, or so I've led myself to believe ;), I can sit back, relax, and enjoy the fireworks all over again, with a little more mental ammo at my disposal.

New stories: Read my first ever shrinking story aptly titled Shrinking Shawn (mm shrinking oral). Let's see, I've done hypno/mc, muscle growth, age progression and body swap. I figured it was time for me to expand my "portfolio" and venture into some undiscovered countries. This is also a gay male transformation site after all. :) I'm looking into writing stories that involve muscle theft, growing, freezing, ASFR, and an authoritarian theme sometime in the future. The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers--Couldn't find a copy here, ended up buying it at Amazon, enjoyed it immensely and planning on reading it again. Has an good mix of science fiction and fantasy elements: time travel, body swaps, lycantrophy, etc. A highly recommended read.

Kentucky Fried Cruelty--"A prominent animal welfare group yesterday began a global boycott of Kentucky Fried Chicken to seek an improvement in the lives and deaths of 700 million chickens that become the chain's fried meals every year."
